Today Tommy Shepard, an actor with the Berkeley Reperatory Theater, came to Room 8 and helped the students put on a play based on the story, "Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock". Ask your kids about the experience!

The next field trip is to the Lawrence Hall of Science on February 13th. Permission slips went home today. Please turn those back in as soon as possible as well as family pictures, letters from grandparents, and family trees.

    It's finally that time!  We are beginning our study of tropical rainforests next week.  We'll be learning about the plants, animals, layers, and climate of the rainforest.  Anyone who has visited a rainforest is very welcome to come and talk with the class about your experiences.  Also, if you have any tropical plants that your are willing to let us borrow, please let me know.

    In math, we're beginning double digit subtraction.  The students  all seem to be doing quite well in addition, so I have high hopes for subtraction!

Hi Parents,

Just a reminder that the play is on Wednesday 2/6 and Thursday 2/7.  The Feb. 7th performance is a fundraiser for our sister school in Baton Rouge, LA.  Please invite your family and friends to this performance.  KHS has raised over $20,000.00 for Progress Elementary School.  We don't want to forget that these people are still in a recovery mode.  Any help  we can send is greatly appreciated. Keep the kids practicing!!! They are doing a great job.  They must be at school no later than 6:45 in costume!!!

Don't forget Thursday Feb. 7th is our study trip to the State Capitol Building!!!!
