Reader's Theater Performance, February 6, 2008
Room 14 will present 3 short reader's theater plays related to winter and Chinese New Years next Wednesday in Room 14 at 1:30 p.m. We invite you to join us for this informal event. The stories are The Mitten, The Three Coins, and The Rooster's Antlers, A Story of the Chinese Zodiac. The students love to perform even without costumes.
Our next study trip will be on February 14th to Nunes Creek where we will plant native wildflowers and willow trees to help stop erosion in the creeks. This trip is scheduled rain or shine and students need to bring plastic bags for muddy shoes or boots, extra shoes and socks, and a bag lunch. Thank you parent drivers for getting your forms in. I am sending the permission slips home with the Thursday packet.
The annual spellathon begins next week. Lists and dates are included with the Thursday packet and our spelling homework for the next month will be based on these words.
Lastly, students will be writing biography book reports on African Americans for their February reading log. Each student must choose a person and be able to obtain a book at the library. Please do not rely on internet for this report. It is a book report. You may look on the internet and read material, but it is not a substitute for reading a book. These reports will be due on February 14th.
We will have a Valentine's Day party when on the 14th from 1:45p.m. to 2:20 p.m. Students should bring a bag or shoebox for their valentines.
