HELLO PARENTS!

Positions that need to be filled for each classroom include Garden Party Volunteer, PTA Liaison, Carnival Volunteer, Class Party Volunteer, Field Trip Volunteer, Safety Volunteer, and Yearbook Volunteer. You can sign up for this exciting opportunity on Monday (8/24) when you stop by to check classroom assignments, in the MPR after the bell rings on the first day of school (8/25), and thereafter in the hallway by the office. Our nation is facing its worst economy since the Great Depression. California’s state economy is even worse. What does this mean for our children and education?

In these challenging times, PTA promises to keep you informed and help you organize to make your school the best it can be.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

• Supporting PTA by buying a membership pays for assemblies, conflict resolution programs, the Kenvue (school paper), library supplies, parent ed nights, landscape improvements and outdoor classroom activities, and disaster preparedness supplies. We need your support!
• Kensington PTA holds 5 meetings a year, generally on the first Thursday of the month, starting in September. Meetings are generally from 7 – 8 pm in the Multipurpose Room.
• Free childcare is always provided.

The meetings for the 2009-2010 school year are:

• September 3 >> program: Q&A with principal, teacher and district reps <<
• November 5
• January 14
• March 4
• May 6

Kensington PTA hosts numerous fun community events a year:

• Art Night (fall),
• Art Show (spring),
• Movie Night,
• Halloween Parade, and
• Spring Carnival.
